Attorney Michael Gallagher

Michael J. Gallagher focuses his practice on patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, patent litigation, trademark litigation, and copyright litigation. In addition to his legal studies, Michael studied immunogenetics at the Mammalian Genetics Center of the University of Michigan and graduated from Wayne State University Medical School. Michael is one of the few medical doctor patent attorneys. While at the University of Michigan, Michael received a Michigan Cancer Foundation Research Fellowship for his work in the enhancement of cancer immunity. Prior to practicing law Michael practiced anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
Michael is an honors graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law where he received numerous scholarships and awards for high academic achievement. Michael has significant experience in international patent prosecution and international trademark prosecution, including extensive knowledge on Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) procedures and the Madrid Protocol. In fact, Michael also holds an advanced degree in international intellectual property protection granted by the University of South Africa. Michael’s unique background makes him particularly astute in the fields of biotechnology patents and medical device patents.
